FAQs

What should I bring to your Friday morning Rise and Shine yoga flow class?

Mats and props are provided, so please just bring yourself in comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in easily.

Are complete beginners welcome?

Absolutely! Classes are designed for all levels and new students are always welcome. Modifications will be offered so you can practice at your own pace.

How do I book a class?

Head to the Classes page to view the schedule and book your session online.

Do you need to be flexible to do yoga?

No! That’s not what yoga is about. If you are super bendy and flexible, good for you! If you can only reach the top of your thighs when you come into a forward fold, good for you! Yoga will probably help with your flexibility, but you don’t need to already be flexible. It’s all about enjoying movement, feeling the stretch, going to where is challenging but not uncomfortable for you and always returning to the breath. Let go what it looks like. No one else is looking anyway!

Why Sunshine Flow?

It’s amazing how a little bit of mindful movement, losing yourself in the flow and focusing on the breath can make you feel better. Sometimes just a tiny bit better. Sometimes a whole lot better. With a yoga flow we generate heat in the body, calm the mind and find that little bit of inner spark. A little bit of our own sunshine to help us get back out there into the world, even if it’s cold and raining outside.

What style of yoga is best for me?

It depends on what you need, which can change from day to day. In general, vinyasa style yoga classes are more flowing and enable you to build up some strength as well as building flexibility, mobility and still offering wonderful relaxation. Yin yoga offers very long held poses, often for several minutes, and can be very restorative and helpful if you’re lacking in energy. Hatha yoga is a general style of yoga, which may offer slightly longer held poses than vinyasa and move less quickly through sequences. There are many more, but the most important thing is to try out a style and see if it works for you right now.
